Oral was bad and mad I must say.
Here's what happened.
Examiner: How would you react if a foreigner comes and tell you that Singaporeans are very arrogant people?
Me: (Thought for a very very long while. Processing what she had just asked slowly...)
Examiner looks at me and asks again.
Me: Erm, I will tell the person not to come and visit Singapore again.
(Conversations in CL)
Gosh, what was that for? I cannot converse in Chinese for pete's sake and to make things worse, I answered that so horribly, terribly, rubbishly. You should have seen the look on the examiner. It was not impossible to tell that she was about to throw the chair at me for that moment. Whew, she let it out with a slight grin. Very fake one lah.
The passage was really okay! For a while, I thought it was some primary school oral paper till the conversation part. The questions were so out-of-this-world lah.
Anyway, back to that question, I thought for a loooong while cos I wanted to say, " Singaporeans aren't arrogant people but more to the kiasu type. Well, at least this nation is known for that. " (Then ends with a 'haha' on purpose.) Haiyah, didn't have time to translate everything from English to Chinese cos she seems to be rushing me to answer so I just blurted out my second option which is true right! If the citizens of Singapore can't change, the most is that we don't make any profit in tourism with no one coming to see our Singapore Zoo and Jurong Bird Park. That's all, fullstop.
So it's her fault. She didn't give me time to think carefully and what's with the mad rush? GGRRRR.
CL listening is on next Friday. The last time I did my listening, I had a 6/20. I tried my best okay. I even checked my answers thoroughly too. Bah, hopeless in Chinese, hopeless in Geog.
On a lighter note, I saw Lionel Lewis (everyone faints!) when I was on the way home with Naph. Siwei just have to tap us to say hi when my eyes met his. As in Lewis lah. He is tall, good-looking and has a very very very good built. (faints another time for him)
God is my hope.
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
